Research in Motion is looking to improve on their BlackBerry Torch which they phrased as their “bestBlackBerry ever.” Hindsight is always 20/20 and this BlackBerry model may not have been the most competitive smartphone, but RIM is looking at the lessons learned and hoping to improve further on the sequel, the Torch 2.
One of the most notable changes has to be in the processor speed which gets bumped up from 600MHz in the first Torch to a 1.2GHz processor with hardware acceleration in the Torch 2. There are also improvements in the display screen which is 3.2-inches in size and comes with higher resolution at 640×480. The smartphone runs on BlackBerry OS 6.1 and also features 512MB RAM, Bluetooth 2.1, a 5MP camera with flash, Tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps and Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE.
If it looks to you as if the Torch 2 looks very similar to its predecessor, you are correct. RIM has indicated that the two units have the same exterior with the exception of a silver finishing.
I just love this phone!!
